The Hocking Hills of Ohio is located in the rolling hills of southeastern Ohio. Its scenic rugged beauty provides a breathtaking motorcycle or car ride from mid-spring into late fall! Unless you are absolutely crazy and a very skilled motorcycle rider like my best friend. He hates to let the dust settle on his ride and says the view can be amazing all year round. I think I will just take his word for it and enjoy the winter views from the cozy warmth of a 4-wheeled vehicle with a nice hot cocoa!
Nevertheless, the Hocking Hills of Ohio offers an abundance of activities. With miles of hiking and ATV trails, tubing and canoe trips, waterfalls, fishing, zip-lining, and so much more. Hocking Hills State Park
The Hocking Hills State Park is undeniably the crown jewel of the area. While it spans over 2,000 acres and shows off the natural beauty of the region. The Hocking Hills State Park is home to six major hiking areas. The three most popular are Old Man’s Cave, Cedar Falls, and Ash Cave.
Old Man’s Cave
Old Man’s Cave is a uniquely beautiful gorge featuring a series of rock formations, waterfalls, and lush vegetation. The approximately 1 mile-long trail leading to the cave takes visitors through dense forests and across wooden bridges. When hikers reach the end of the trail, they are greeted by the stunning sight of Old Man’s Cave. Boasting a narrow gorge with a cascading waterfall and a towering rock overhang. What a wonderful place for a nice little picnic or a light snack of Guilt-Free Protein Popcorn. A little pick me up for the trip back to civilization.
Cedar Falls

But visitors beware, you will want to pack a couple of extra water bottles into your day pack. Even with the shade, in the heat of the day, the temperatures can be sweltering. Please, be prepared and keep yourself and your on-leash 4-legged companion hydrated!
Ash Cave
Ash Cave is another must-see destination in the park. This is the largest recess cave in the state of Ohio. The approximately 0.5-mile-long trail leading to Ash Cave takes visitors through a breathtaking valley. Then the trail meanders its way along leading to the cave itself. Ash Cave is a stunning sight to behold! It has a towering overhang that is 100 feet high and over 700 feet long. After spending some time exploring the area or just sitting and taking in God’s work for a time. Visitors may find a treat awaiting their return to the parking area in the form of a Food Truck.

Now, while I love the views from various heights and I don’t even have a problem with flying. But you try to get this 5’2″ girl on a chair or ladder of any height and I begin to shake and hyperventilate! I have even received blisters on my hands from riding roller coasters. So I would have to say that for me, the SuperZip is a hard NO! For the simple reason, the SuperZip is over 1,100 feet long and reaches speeds of up to 50 miles per hour!
So, Nope! No Way! No How! I think I will hang out at one of the many cabins in the area for rent with a glass of Fine Wine and a good book! And await the return of the daredevils!
Soaring Cliffs is another popular zip-line tour company in the area. While they also have several different zip-line tours. Their claim to fame is the Ultimate Adventure Tour! This TreeTop Adventure includes seven different zip-lines, two rappels, and a suspension bridge. I would do the suspension bridge! Even tho I might have sweaty palms and be on the verge of hyperventilation, I would do it! The Ultimate Adventure Tour is a four-hour tour that offers amazing views of the Hocking Hills region.
ZipZone Canopy Tours
ZipZone Canopy Tours is another popular zip-line tour company in the area. Just like the others listed, They have many different zip-line tours. However, ZipZone Canopy Tours has a memorable tour, unlike the others. ZipZone’s call to fame is the Night Flight. While the group size is limited to eight people to ensure a personalized experience. This incredible TreeTop Adventure is a unique experience that is approximately two and a half hours long and has six zip-lines. It allows visitors to experience the Hocking Hills region under the stars.
