Life Before the Functional Scarf with a Pocket
Before I get started; grab you a glass of True Fine Wine (that was delivered to your door) and some Protein Popcorn. Find your favorite reading spot and prepare to be entertained. (Hopefully!) I am going to transport you back to your school years unless you are 30+ years younger than I am. In which case, I hope it makes you think of times in your current life you could use the Functional Scarf with a Pocket.
Memories (Problems)
As I sit and think back about all of the extracurricular activities I was involved in during school. I compare that time with those in today’s educational system and ponder the changes. And the similarities. I was involved with sports. All kinds of sports, basketball, volleyball, softball, track, even choir, and the pep club (those unfortunate soles that didn’t make the cheer squad, but still overflowed with school spirit to yell as a group from the stands).
As a pep club member, we got to take a bus to the away football games. Picture a busload of girls juggling bags, blankets, books, walk-men, CD players, cassette and cd cases, drinks, and snacks for the ride. But, let us not forget the cash for concessions and possibly a meal after the game. Now, don’t forget all those athletes and their additional bags with their uniforms and specialty shoes for the specific event they are attending. We also don’t want to leave out our musical comrades. Because we also had choir and band activities that included away performances and competitions separate from the athletic activities. (Now, that I look back on that time I wonder if it helped me prepare for parenthood and all that baggage!)
There were way too many times to count. Classmates leave their purses or wallet in their vehicles, causing the bus to leave later. Maybe, the bus has stopped on the way to the event and a friend nudges you as you are standing in the checkout line at a convenience store. They whisper to you that they forgot their money in their car back at the school, or on the bus and don’t want to lose their place in line. Then ask if you can, cover them and they will pay you back.
More Problems Without Functional Scarf with a Pocket
Even more frustrating, is the time that you tucked your money in a pocket or bag. You know the spot, where you won’t lose it and no one will think to look for it to take it. Then the bus stops for everyone to eat dinner and now you scramble trying to remember that extra safe place! Then coach announces it will only be a 20-minute stop and everyone needs to hurry. Now, what are you going to do? No matter how fast and thorough you look you still can’t find your money!
The final straw, after a very long and physically active day with long travel times you arrive back where you started. You gather all your belongings from around you, out of the overhead storage, and from the belly of the bus. You proceed to drag your tired body to your car or waiting ride. Get ready to load your stuff for the final leg of your day to your house and nice cozy bed. To realize you or your ride has misplaced the car keys.
Your head starts to spin with the questions. When was the last time you saw them? What did you do with them? Did you stash them in a pocket, in one of your many bags, or cases? No? You think you remember tucking them in your pocket but they aren’t there! Did they fall out on the bus (that has left by this time to go to bus barns), in a bathroom somewhere along the way? Maybe, at your destination in the locker room, bathroom, stands, or when you pulled your money out at the concession stand? (Panic sets in!)
